FFTTIC Board Welcomes Newly Elected Director Glenice Batchelor

The Food, Fibre and Timber Industries Training Council (WA) Inc. Board of Directors welcomed Glenice Batchelor following her election by members at the Annual General Meeting (AGM) held on 11 November 2025. In acknowledging her appointment, the Chairman, Mr Darren Culverwell stated:
“Glenice brings a wealth of experience across agriculture, biosecurity, natural-resource management and community leadership. Her practical understanding of regional industry challenges, combined with her governance expertise, will greatly enhance the Board’s capacity to support workforce development across Western Australia’s food, fibre and timber sectors.”
Based in Tammin on Ballardong Noongar Country, Glenice is widely recognised for her leadership across the Wheatbelt. Her career spans project management, agriculture, horticulture and natural-resource management, supported by strong skills in governance, strategy and stakeholder engagement.
She currently serves as Executive Officer of the Merredin and Districts Farm Improvement Group (MADFIG), where she works with growers, researchers and government agencies on initiatives ranging from livestock and cropping systems to carbon farming, ag-tech and drought-resilience adoption. Earlier roles include positions with Landcare Australia, the Southern Biosecurity Group and the WA Department of Primary Industries and Regional Development, supporting pest-management programs across 28 shires.
Glenice also brings extensive governance experience, having served as a Director of Perth NRM, President of the Shire of Tammin, and member of multiple ministerial and industry advisory committees. Her qualifications include diplomas in project management, horticulture and company directorship through the Australian Institute of Company Directors.
Her election strengthens the FFTTIC Board’s connection to regional industry and reinforces its commitment to ensuring a skilled, future-ready workforce for Western Australia’s food, fibre and timber industries. The Board looks forward to the valuable insight and leadership she will contribute.
