New industry roundtable brings employers, training providers and government together to address workforce challenges across the meat processing sector.
Western Australia's meat processing sector has taken an important step with the establishment of the WA Meat Industry Roundtable, bringing together employers, government, training providers and workforce organisations to develop practical, coordinated solutions for the workforce challenges facing the industry.
The inaugural meeting identified four key priorities:
• Recruitment and attraction
• Upskilling and training access

• Retention and workforce support
• Future skills and productivity
Facilitated by the Food Fibre and Timber Industry Training Council and supported by MINTRAC, the Roundtable will focus on turning shared industry priorities into measurable actions that strengthen workforce capability across Western Australia's meat processing sector.
By sharing knowledge, aligning priorities and working collaboratively, the industry is building practical pathways to support both today's workforce needs and tomorrow's opportunities.
