Six students carve out a fresh future in WA’s meat industry

A new generation of young Western Australians is getting a hands-on taste of the meat industry, with six students from Perth metropolitan schools now well into their second term of the AMP20117 Certificate II in Meat Processing (Food Services) through South Metropolitan TAFE.

The Department of Energy and Economic Diversification publish profiles on WA's economy, international trade and major industries.

 

Applications are open for the Fulbright Professional Scholarship in Vocational Education and Training, which supports outstanding Australian professionals in the VET sector to undertake research in the United States.

 

A Global Footprints Scholarship gives young Australians the opportunity to travel the world, learn about sustainability and shape a better future for yourselves and the world.  Scholarships are available for young people in Agriculture, Horticulture and many Trades.  Applications close 1 June.


This is an educator-led, cross-sector call to action released in April 2026 that outlines a national plan to transform Australian education and training for the age of artificial intelligence (AI).

 

Skills Insight are currently updating the qualification to ensure it accurately represents the breadth of modern primary industries.  Advice is being sort on what the new qualification title should look like. 

 

This workshop explores how AI can enhance, not replace, great teaching. It  showcases leading AI tools for creating engaging classroom resources, including images, video, music and apps, together with ways of using these resources in your teaching program.  28 July 2026
