It’s National Volunteer Week (19 - 25 May). Thank you to the many volunteers who run our Industry Associations, NRM organisations, Grower Groups + too many other ones to mention.  Your contribution and enthusiasm are definitely making a difference.  A big thank you to the FFTITC Board who volunteer many hours so that their industries have a skilled workforce available to help them prosper and grow.  


A major sheep processing plant in Katanning has been given a $12 million loan to expand and upgrade its facility through the Cook Government's Co-operative Companies Loan Scheme.  


Community organisations and local governments are invited to apply for grant funding to support local events and activities to celebrate International Volunteer Day on 5 December 2025 


Apprenticeship Support Australia is hosting a free webinar on Thursday 5 June to discover how hiring women in male-dominated trades can benefits your business.  NCVER estimates that women in male-dominated trade occupations make up only around 8% of all apprentices. 


This is the final event in the EMRC’s REthink, REdesign, REstyle series. This inspiring exploration of circular fashion and textile sustainability is supported by the Circular Textile Working Group WA.  This event will bring together local innovators, changemakers, and textile enthusiasts to explore the future of fibres in Perth

From 1 July 2025, skilled visa income thresholds will be increased by 4.6%. This is in line with changes to the annual Average Weekly Ordinary Time Earnings (AWOTE). This delivers on the commitment outlined in the Migration Strategy, as recommended by the Migration Review.


ASQA has just released new practice guides for the New 2025 Standards for RTOs


Designed as an introductory session, you’ll learn more about the requirements outlined in the Standards for RTOs and AQTF, strategies for engaging in currency activities, determining the appropriate length of the string, and documenting evidence effectively.  


The program is open to people aged 25-40 with a proven commitment to the advancement of the agriculture industry. Each scholarship is worth up to $20,000, the first round opening today.


From Primezone, these cross-curricular resources are designed for a variety of classroom settings and teaching styles. Teachers and students benefit with free access to current and contextual red meat and livestock sector paddock to plate content focused on sustainable production, and red meat’s role in a balanced diet. 


Boyup Brook District High has reopened its farm program after shutting it down 20 years ago.  Students can learn foundations of farming through completing their Certificate I in agriculture.
