Meet our FFTTIC Board Member - Glenice Batchelor

 

We continue to highlight our board members who play a vital role in shaping the direction and impact of the Food, Fibre and Timber Industries Training Council

 

Today, we introduce you to Glenice Batchelor.  Glenice has been engaged with the FFTITC for many years but only joined our Board in 2025. 

 

Glenice is currently Executive Officer for Merredin and Districts Farming Improvement Group (MADFIG) as well as a Director of Perth NRM.

Forum Summary: Building Pathways Together: FFTITC Skills on Country Forum Inspires Connection and Action


As covered in our last edition of Nimble News, on 18 March 2026, the FFTITC, in conjunction with the Waalitj Foundation, we hosted the inaugural Skills on Country Network Forum.   

 

We have developed a Network Forum Summary that gives you an overview of the event, the learnings and outcomes.

 

We have also compiled a short video that highlights the day.  Once again, we’d like to thank all who attended.

Skills Network Meetings bring together employers, industry leaders, educators and stakeholders to discuss emerging trends, workforce challenges and training issues and opportunities.

The Australian Tertiary Education Commission (ATEC) is now a reality, after legislation to establish the landmark body passed federal parliament. “Establishing the ATEC is a great milestone for education and training in Australia,” the Minister for Skills and Training Andrew Giles said.


The House Standing Committee on Education adopted an inquiry into the factors driving educational attainment on 1 April 2026.  The Committee is seeking written submissions by 12 June, 2026.


This report is the final progress report for the implementation of the inquiry recommendations. The inquiry findings and recommendations have been integrated into WorkSafe’s ongoing operations, ensuring agricultural safety remains a key focus of our business-as-usual activities,
