This National Careers Week, we’re highlighting the people and groups that provide career guidance and information.
To our "CAREER PRACTITIONERS".... who enthusiastically provide career information and services to young people, job seekers, career changers and people returning to work. We love what you do!
We have WA Jobs and Skills Centres, Western Australia's one-stop shops for careers, training and employment advice and assistance. Services are free, and accessible to all members of the community. The centres are located throughout Perth and regional WA, with additional outreach locations for regional areas.
Nationally, we have the Career Development Australia (CDAA) which is Australia’s largest and only cross-sectoral association of career development professionals who work in a diverse range of roles, delivering services in industry, government, education, employment programs and community organisations. You can also Find a Career Practitioner by searching their database of members.

In WA, we have a local group of CDAA WA members who meet the 2nd Wednesday of each month at the Dome Café, East Victoria Park. You don't have to be a member of CDAA to attend - just someone who works or is interested in the career space. FFTITC loves attending these meetings as it’s a great network to connect with.
To contact CDAA WA:
Rebecca Herbertson - President https://www.linkedin.com/in/rebeccaherbertson/
Lisa Laing - Monthly Meetup Organiser https://www.linkedin.com/in/lisa-laing-perth/
We then have the Career Education Association of Western Australia (CEAWA) who are a network of educators and career practitioners that work in WA's school system. Providing career information to school students is critical to ensure a smooth transition from school to the workforce.
So, as you can see WA is very lucky to have such a dedicated network of Career Practitioners who assist people in making informed decisions about their education, training, and occupational pathways and ensuring that we have the right workforce for today and the future.
A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL OF YOU
HAPPY NATIONAL CAREERS WEEK
